# Coding Agents (/en/docs/cookbook/coding-agents)

Connect Praxis to terminal coding agents and drive them with your own key. Every tool needs just three things: a Base URL, an API key, and a model ID.

All agents share the same [prerequisite](/en/docs/developers/model/quickstart): a Praxis API key starting with `sk-praxis-`.

**Protocol cheat sheet**: Claude Code uses the Anthropic protocol (`/anthropic`); Codex uses the OpenAI Responses protocol (`/openai/v1` + `wire_api: "responses"`); most others use the OpenAI-compatible protocol (`/openai/v1`).

**New to coding agents?** Start with [Claude Code](/en/docs/cookbook/coding-agents/claude-code)—minimal config (one JSON file), the most active community, and the richest documentation.
